President of Strategic Thinktank, Inc. a boutique management advisory consultancy offering practical and results-driven strategic solutions to small and mid-sized (SMB) businesses. She is Principal Consultant and outsourced Independent Business Consultant working with small second stage and mid-sized small business clients. She was previously Supervisor at Oakland County’s One Stop Shop Business Center and supervised a staff of seven.
Ms. Aré is a certified Michigan Small Business Counselor and has counseled small businesses on a one-on-one basis for the past 24 years. She brought a history of small business ownership (President of Strategic Thinktank, Inc.), marketing and training experience to her public sector career. Prior to this, the first ten years of her career was spent in Corporate America.
She was an Adjunct Faculty member at Walsh College in Troy teaching small business management from 2006 to 2012.
Ms. Aré was awarded one of two Small Business Counselor of the year awards given by the Michigan Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2011.
She received her Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in General Business with a minor in Economics from the University of Michigan Flint. She received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with concentrations in Marketing and Finance from The University of Michigan's Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor. Ms. Aré is a lifetime member of the Ross School of Business Alumni Association and sits on the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council.
